Letter to the Gisborne Herald.

My class has entered a competition for the best writing about what Christmas means to me.  I liked writing to the Gisborne herald because I liked telling them what christmas means to me. What i learned was that the Gisborne area is 4040.  

Stop Motion animation communication.

Lily and I did a Stop motion animation we did our storey about someone getting bullied for being different, than someone stood up to the bullie and stopped her. We did this project because we wanted to show what sometimes happens and that one person can stop it, In this story Jacob was the one to stop it so he was...the hero. What I liked about this was learning color keying if you don't know what that is it's like a green screen. I also got better and moving the lego slower witch makes it look better and more realistic.

Marimba festival.

This term we went to Tauranga to perform music at "Our Place" on the 6/11/18.
I really enjoyed performing at "Our place" there
was about 120 people performing and about
200 watching. I am very thankful that my teacher Mrs Hall , Mr Hocquard and Rachel were able to make this happen and Mr Hocquard hasn't played and instrument about for 13 years.
I would like to thank everyone who made this happen and the people who actually did proform.
I really enjoyed playing the instruments and think we owned that stage.

This is my term 4 quotes and reflections. I really enjoy doing these because there fun and cool seeing the quotes.

Fruit salad.

On the first day back to school we some research about a quote fruit salad. We did a freeze frame and had to connect with the person next to you you also had to pose in something you are good at. Everyone posed in something different.
I thought this quote means that every fruit taste different none taste the same and its like us none of us are the same. This was a fun activity to do and a cool quote.

My speech.

This is my speech i don't really like talking in front of people but i did it. I felt really nervous and scared because i was first on the day.

 
Imagine if this world was perfect. No pollution, no bombing, no judging. If this world was perfect how would you feel? I know how I would feel…..absolutely amazing! Today I am going to share with you some ideas about how I can contribute to this world to make it a better place. First of all I would like to stop racism by helping people accept each other whatever colour, race or religion they are. I’m only 11 but if I respect others it may encourage you and others to do the same. Secondly I want to stop pollution, This has been a HUGE problem all around the world which hasn’t been fixed. Pollution has affected people and animals. It causes heart problems and has been killing harmless animals. Did you know 9 billion kilograms of garbage are dumped into the ocean every year. Most of it is plastic. Americans make up 5% of the world's population, and yet, produce 30% of the world's waste and use 25% of the world's resources. There are lots of stray cats and dogs that scavenge in people's bins for food and then the rubbish is blown around the streets and into the ocean which causes more pollution and kills more animals and fish. If you foster or adopt an animal it would give it a better life and be fed well and not go scavenging for food. I have helped by adopting 2 dogs and 5 cats. I try to use products that are recyclable and I try to pick up some rubbish everyday. It would help if we all did this. By donating my used clothing to friends, other people and charities it helps people who are not so well off so they will have more money for food and other things. People have set up community stalls where people can take food for free. Anyone can donate items there too. There is one round the corner from my house and we have donated food there. Before I buy things I will think carefully if I really need them. Are they good for the environment, or are they eventually going to become useless and trash? When I am old enough I am going to donate blood because by donating blood you can save someone's life. Visiting people when they are sick or just going to talk to an elderly person will make them feel better and cared about. If you do something nice for someone it always makes them and you feel good. Alone I may not be able to change the world, but every little bit I do will make a difference. To finish, this is a quote from Linda Poindexter, “make the world a better place one person at a time, start with yourself.” Thank you.

Whangara farm trip.

On the 11 of June 2018 we went to Whangara to learn about the different grasses they planted.Andrew showed us the boxes that he uses to measure the grass he also measured the grass with a technology measurer thing,some of us got a turn...i did.In the nursery there was willow and popolas.Willows helped stop the erosion happening by the river banks and popolas help by stopping the erosion happening by the hills.After we had a look at all the plants we got some dirt to do some tests when we get back to school i had heaps of fun and hope i go back.

We are learning how to make a quality blog comment.On the second slide it showed us some other students blogs and we could see some of there comments they received...then on the third slide it showed us how to make a quality blog comment.I had fun doing this cyber safety activity and i learned a bit on how to make my comments better.By Gypsy.

How to make Anzac biscuits.

Anzac biscuits.

Preheat oven to 160°C fan bake and line 2 oven trays with baking paper for easy clean-up.
Combine rolled oats, flour, coconut and sugar in a large bowl. Heat together golden syrup, butter and boiling water until butter melts. Stir in soda, then mix into dry ingredients until well combined.
Roll mixture into balls slightly smaller than a golf ball and place on trays, allowing a little room for spreading. For biscuits that are crunchy on the outside but a little chewy inside, lightly flatten with a fork or damp fingers and bake until lightly golden (about 20 minutes). For chunky, super-hard biscuits, bake for about 30 minutes. For very crunchy thin biscuits, press dough very flat and bake for about 15 minutes.

Take out the biscuits then enjoy the taste of deliciousness.😍

Ice Skating

My class Tawhirimatea went on the ice rank today(11/4/18/Tue)
We had so much fun and learnt how to skate better.Ice man taught us some tricks on the skates like how to spin, glide and balance on one foot.Ice man taught us heaps and it helped a lot to improve our skating skills.Then what made it way better MUSIC CAME ON AND BUBBLES APPEARED that's what made it way better.It was so cool ice skating and learning a bit more about how to ice skate because before we did this i couldn't skat AT ALL.This was a cool experience and EXTRA COOL doing it with all my friends.

We learned so much about skate and had a great time and i hope it comes again next year.
